With the opening of the new Elizabeth line in 2018 (fully open in 2019), spanning 60 miles from Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east, it will transform travel across the city. Stopping at 40 stations, a fleet of 66 trains will have the capacity to carry 1,500 people per each journey.
